Blue Eyed Grass (Sisyrnchium idahoensis) isn't a grass at all, but a member of the Iris family! This early bloomer (one of the earliest blooming natives we offer) spreads slowly by both rhizomes and seeding into attractive clumps of grass-like foliage with purple flowers that feature 6 petals with a yellow center. It requires winter and spring moisture, but will tolerate less watering in the summer months (only about 2 times a month). It will also tolerate seasonal flooding.
