Bluebells, or Harebells, (Campanula rotundifolia) 'Thumbell Violet Blue' is a delicate perennial that grows in clusters with long, slender stems and bell-shaped flowers that hang down from the top of the stem. These adorable blooms will appear in early summer and continue throughout the summer if given even moisture. 'Thumbell Violet Blue' was cultivated for a more uniform growth habit and more prolific blooming than the regular species. This plant thrives in higher elevations and mountain gardens. If planting in lower elevations, it prefers morning sun and afternoon shade with regular moisture. 'Thumbell Violet Blue' looks great in garden beds, borders, cottage gardens, shade or woodland gardens, prairie or meadow plantings, rock gardens, or containers. Harebells are somewhat tolerant of urban pollution.
