Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis) 'Saunny' is an attractive dwarf selection of the native Limber Pine. 'Saunny' features a beautiful green color and the typical pyramidal shape of pine trees, only in miniature! Add 'Saunny' to garden beds and borders, rock gardens, or Japanese style plantings. For best results, plant in sandy or loam soil with good drainage and be careful not to overwater.

Irrigation Requirement: Low (1/2" every 10-14 days) after the plant has established. Water on a moderate schedule the first year or two.
Mature Size: Extremely slow growing, will be a few feet tall and wide after 10-12 years.

Salt Tolerant: Somewhat, Limber Pine is more salt tolerant than other pine species, but still considered very salt tolerant.
Soils: Will do best in well-drained sandy or loam soils, but it can tolerate clay if amended to improve drainage.
Plants in the Pinus genus are known host plants for 150 pollinators in northern Utah. 'Saunny' can also provide good habitat for some birds and small animals.
