Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum) is a cheerful, compact perennial that is native to Cache and Box Elder counties in Utah. Its blooms resemble a small sunflower and last from May to July. This plant is easy to grow and does well in xeric gardens, needing very little water once established. This plant looks best when planted in large masses or drifts in xeric or traditional garden beds, along paths or borders, on slopes, or in naturalized meadow or prairie gardens. This plant spreads easily by seed so choose a garden site where it can be allowed to seed into open spaces, or clip spent blooms before they go to seed to control this spread.
