Rubber Rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa) is a vigorous shrub common throughout much of Utah. Aromatic gray-green leaves grow on white-green stems with bright clusters of yellow flowers appearing at the top in late summer. Rubber Rabbitbrush keeps an attractive upright growth habit with minimal spring pruning and is extremely drought tolerant. Use Rabbitbrush to add color and texture to dry garden beds and borders, xeric gardens, or natural or restorative plantings. It can also be used for slope or bank stabilization or grown as a low hedge. This plant is flammable and should not be planted next to houses or other buildings. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution.
