Western Yarrow (Achillea millefolium var. occidentalis) is a widespread native wildflower that features large, flat clusters of creamy-white flowers and graceful, fern-like foliage. It a common flower in Utah meadows and beloved by pollinators and predatory insects! Plant in garden beds or mixed borders, cottage gardens, naturalistic prairie and meadow gardens, cut flower gardens, or fruit tree guilds. Yarrow spreads by both seed and underground rhizomes, so plant in a large, naturalistic planting that allows this spread, or clip spent blooms before they go to seed in smaller areas. Western Yarrow is highly tolerant of urban pollution and city environments.
